In addition to a variety of public transportation options that are often available in communities, the options listed below are usually available nationally.

TRANSPORTATION ACCESS TO COVID-19 VACCINE APPOINTMENTS

National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (nadtc.org): “Our goal is to promote the availability and accessibility of transportation options for older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers.”

For Medicaid Recipients: Let Medicaid Give You a Ride (cms.gov). “Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is an important benefit for beneficiaries who need to get to and from medical services, but have no means of transportation.”

Those who have Medicaid insurance and are eligible for Home and Community-Based Services may be eligible to receive care provider support, which may include driving assistance to get to medical appointments, shopping, and for other covered activities destinations. For Medicare Recipients (SOME TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS):

Paratransit: How is paratransit eligibility determined? “Disability alone does not determine paratransit eligibility; the decision is based on the applicant’s functional ability to use the fixed-route bus and is not a medical decision.”

Volunteer Driver Programs: Click on Your State to Find Volunteer Transportation Providers via the Community Transportation Association of America.

Veterans: “Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) is working to establish Mobility Managers at each local VA facility to help Veterans meet their transportation needs.”
