State-regulated gas and electric companies provide low-income discounts.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
LIHEAP helps those who are facing a power shut-off for the inability to pay for service or who don’t have the means for a heating source. LIHEAP/HEAP may pay for bill payment assistance, replacement or repair of heating source, purchase of new heating equipment, or payment of emergency shelter for people who live in places that are unlivable.
